The short version
We earn a booking commission when a room request sent from this site becomes a confirmed stay at Fairmont Le Manoir Richelieu. The commission is paid by the hotel or by the booking partner that completes the reservation. It is never paid by you, and it never changes the price you are quoted.
How a request becomes a stay
- You fill in the request sheet at the bottom of any page: your dates, the number of people, the room or view you would like, and anything we should know.
- A person at our desk checks what the Manoir has open for those nights, either with the hotel's reservations team or with a booking partner that can book the hotel.
- We write back by email with what is available, the price and the conditions — including the resort fee and parking, which are easy to forget.
- If you accept, the booking is made with the hotel or the partner, under their terms and their payment page. We never take a card number on this site.
- If the stay goes ahead, the hotel or the partner pays us a commission. If it does not, nobody pays anybody.
What is not connected today
As of 1 November 2026, this site carries no advertising and is not connected to any affiliate network. The buttons and links to fairmont.com take you to the hotel's official website without any tracking tag of ours. If that ever changes — if we add advertising or partner links — we will say so on this page and mark the links themselves.
What the money does not buy
- It does not buy our opinion. The verdict and the room pages say where the hotel asks for patience, because a guest who books the wrong room is a guest who does not come back.
- It does not buy promotion of the casino. We describe the Casino de Charlevoix neutrally, publish no gaming offers and earn nothing from it.
- It does not come from Fairmont, Accor or Loto-Québec as payment for content. We are not affiliated with any of them.
Who we are, commercially
La Malbaie Stays is a small independent publication, working since 2026. The domain was registered through Namecheap, Inc. on 31 October 2026. The site is hosted on a DigitalOcean server in Toronto, Canada, and served through Cloudflare. You can reach us at hello@lamalbaiestays.com.
Why say all this?
Because it is the honest thing to do, and because it helps you judge what we write. A site that sends room requests to a hotel has an interest in rooms being booked. Ours is no different. What we can promise is that we would rather send you to the right room, or tell you the Manoir is not for you, than earn a commission on a stay that disappoints.
