The hotel's page for the Deluxe View King uses a phrase that it does not use for any other standard category: it promises "the hotel's best views". We cannot check that from a distance, and different floors and wings will see the river differently. But the combination is right. You get the 27-square-metre Deluxe layout with its sitting area and sofa bed, and you get it on the river side of the building.
Why this is our default
Most stays at the Manoir include time in the room at the edges of the day: coffee at the window before breakfast, an hour after the spa, a late evening watching the lights of ships. A sitting area turns those hours into part of the holiday rather than waiting time. And the extra width lets two people move around each other in the morning without a negotiation. For couples staying three nights or more, or for anyone who will spend real time indoors in winter, we think this is the room that justifies the drive.

King or Two Double?
The Deluxe View King is the couple's room. The Deluxe View Two Double, with its two beds and sofa bed, is the best way we know to give a family the river without the price of a suite. The hotel's page for the Two Double gives a capacity figure we found inconsistent with its other pages, so we ask you to tell us how many people will sleep in the room and we will confirm the limit with the hotel.
Seasons from the window
Summer brings long evenings and boats on the water. In autumn the hills of Charlevoix turn red and gold behind the hotel, and the river takes on that colder blue. In winter, ice forms along the shore and the outdoor pool steams below. Spring is the quietest season at the Manoir and, from a river-view room, one of the most beautiful: the ice breaks up and the light comes back.
What to write on the request sheet
Choose "Deluxe View room" and add King or Two Double in the note. If you are celebrating something, or would like a higher floor, say so. We pass preferences on but cannot guarantee a specific room number — the hotel allocates rooms at check-in.
