Review scores are useful and slippery. They change daily, they mix stays from different seasons and room types, and they rarely say which room a reviewer slept in. We list what we could verify ourselves on 31 October and 1 November 2026 and add a note on each. We have not read or summarised individual reviews, and we print no quotations from guests.
Public scores
| Where | What we saw | Date | Our note |
|---|---|---|---|
| Google Maps, place card | 4.4 out of 5 from 4,519 reviews; labelled "5-star hotel" in the place panel | 1 Nov 2026 | The count appeared on the Google map card for the hotel; the larger place panel we captured the same day showed the rating without it. |
| Fairmont hotel page, structured data | 4.7 from 9,554 reviews; star rating 5 | 31 Oct 2026 | Published by the hotel in its page code; the source of the reviews is not named. |

How to read reviews of this hotel
Because we know what the hotel publishes, we can suggest what to look for when you read guests' reviews elsewhere.
Which room were they in?
A complaint about a small room with no view is very likely a Fairmont room, which the hotel places "throughout the hotel". A review full of the river is likely a View category. Read reviews with our rooms table beside you.
When did they come?
Le Bellerive, the pool bar and Le Point Cardinal are seasonal. A review written in November that mentions a closed restaurant is describing the calendar, not a failure.
Were they surprised by the bill?
The resort fee ($40 or $35 per room per night, depending on which hotel page you read) and indoor valet parking ($39 plus taxes) are published. Knowing them in advance removes most of the sting.
Was there a convention?
A hotel that can seat a thousand people for a banquet will sometimes be full of them. If calm matters, ask about events on your dates.
Our own view
Our editorial verdict, without stars, is on its own page. It is based on the hotel's published facts and the region's sources, not on a stay paid for by the hotel.
