In summer the Manoir is about the river. In winter it is about the contrast between outside and in — between a morning on the slopes at minus fifteen and an evening by the fire in the Grand Hall. The hotel calls itself a year-round resort, and its winter pages back that up with a list of activities on and around the property.
On the property
The hotel lists snowshoeing, ice skating, ice fishing and a winter via ferrata among the things guests can do in winter, along with "so much more". It also points guests back to the wellness centre after a day outside: the indoor pool, the steam room, and the outdoor pool and whirlpool that stay open all year. Pool hours are 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily.

Skiing at Mont Grand-Fonds
The hotel's ski page puts Mont Grand-Fonds twenty minutes from the hotel by car. The mountain's own site gives the figures: a vertical drop of 335 metres, 20 downhill trails for all levels and a snow park, a summit at 735 metres, the Versant du Lynx with 8 hectares of off-piste glades, more than 140 kilometres of groomed cross-country trails and 41 kilometres of snowshoe trails. Regional tourism pages quote 23 downhill runs; we print the mountain's own number. The hill rents skis, snowboards and helmets, and the hotel's ski page says skiers of all ages are welcome.
The Vallée des Glaces
Tourisme Charlevoix lists the Vallée des Glaces, in the Parc national des Hautes-Gorges-de-la-Rivière-Malbaie, among the region's winter destinations. The park is about 35 to 45 minutes from La Malbaie — the same tourism page gives both figures. The park's own site was not reachable from our server, so check access and conditions there before setting out.
Snowmobiles
The hotel describes itself as "a true paradise for snowmobilers" and offers a Ski-Doo package that includes heated indoor parking for one or two snowmobiles; an additional machine costs $20 per night. Local outfitters such as Nord Expé and Top Location Charlevoix, named by the tourism office, rent machines and run guided outings. The hotel's sustainability page says it worked with Nord Expé on the region's first electric snowmobiles.
Which room for winter?
Winter evenings are long, and you will spend more time in your room than in July. That argues for space: a Deluxe View room with its sitting area, or a one-bedroom suite if you are a family. The Jacuzzi King has an obvious appeal after a day in the cold. Ask for a river view: the frozen edges of the St. Lawrence and the light on the ice are one of the sights of the season.
Practical winter notes
- Driving: the hotel's directions follow Route 138 East from Québec City; allow extra time in snow and check road conditions before you leave.
- Dining: Le Bellerive and the pool bar were listed as closed until spring on 31 October 2026, and Le Point Cardinal is a golf-season restaurant. Le Saint-Laurent, Bar La Brise and in-room dining remain.
- Coat check at the casino operates year-round except in summer — useful information only if you go next door.
- The resort fee includes on-site activities; ask which winter activities are covered and which carry a charge.
